Hartford HealthCare Unveils New Health Lab Exhibit at the Connecticut Science Center
August 21, 2012
Before medical experts get to work saving patients, they practice on state-of-the-art medical manikins, or SimMan.
On Wednesday, August 22 at 10:30 am, Hartford HealthCare will unveil the Hartford HealthCare Health Lab at the Connecticut Science Center. Here, visitors will have the chance to be medical experts and save lives, all while learning how first responders and physicians respond to different medical scenarios.
The exhibit will provide a profound interactive experience to motivate students and other visitors to embrace science at school, at home, and in their communities. Here, we combine the expertise and creativity of the CT Science Center with vision and resources of the Hartford HealthCare system.
The goal is simple: to inspire children and adults to become more engaged in their own health, to better understand the basics of exercise and nutrition.
This coming October, providers from throughout the health care system will offer health and wellness educational programming.
- We’ll have sports medicine pros from the Hartford HealthCare Rehabilitation Networkteaching the “Science of a good batting swing"
- LifeStar team members will demonstrate emergency medicine
- The staff from the Hartford Hospital Center for Education, Simulation and Innovation will show how we are leveraging technology to revolutionize health care.
