Here are answers to questions most frequently asked by, or about, our medical staff.

Q: How many active staff have privileges at Hartford Hospital?
A: There are currently over 2,100 active staff with privileges at Hartford Hospital.

Q: How and when does the Credentials Committee meet?
A: The Credentials Committee meets on the first Monday of every month.

Q: How long does the application/credentialing process take?
A: For Medical Staff - Your privileges will be approved 45-90 days after receipt of the application.

For Adjunct Staff - Your privileges will be approved 45-90 days after receipt of the application.

We suggest you make an appointment for an interview with the Department Director while your application is in process.

Q: How do I change my staff status (for example I am currently on the Active Staff and I want to transfer to the Courtesy Staff)?
A: You need to contact the Director of the department to which you have privileges, as well as the Manager of the Medical Staff Office.

Q: How do I change (add/delete) my privileges?
A: You need to contact the Director of the department to whcih you have privileges, as well as the Manager of the Medical Staff Office.

Q: How do I go on LOA (leave of absence)?
A: You need to contact the Director of the department to which you have privileges, as well as the Manager of the Medical Staff Office.

Q: Who needs to be notified of a change in address?
A: Contact the Medical Staff Office at 860.972.2585. Note that it is important to keep both office and home addresses current.
