Cystic Fibrosis Center | Adult Services

The Raymond & Marie Beauregard Adult Cystic Fibrosis Center at Hartford Hospital works in collaboration with the Pediatric Cystic Fibrosis program at Connecticut Children’s’ Medical Center to comprise the Central Connecticut Cystic Fibrosis Center (CCCFC).

Historically, all cystic fibrosis patients were admitted to a pediatric setting. Due to the increase in the number of patients, increased life expectancy and the apparent need for adult-specific services, a partnership between the two institutions ensued. The entire team of our Center remains committed to a seamless transition, continuous quality improvement, and adherence to established standards of care. North 11 at Hartford Hospital, is designated as the inpatient cystic fibrosis floor.

The essential elements and building blocks of excellence in patient care and nursing are evidenced by our commitment to and attainment of accreditation from the nationally recognized, Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. Our center is one of 117 centers nationally accredited by this prestigious Foundation.

The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation’s mission is to develop the means to cure the disease and to improve the quality of life for those with the condition by establishing consistent standards of care which best control the disease. In summary, the Hartford Hospital leadership team states: “Although these patients may be both clinically and emotionally complex, the rewards they bring are immeasurable, including both personal and professional development.

It is both a privilege and honor to partner with adults with CF and to be part of the process of bringing scientific advances to the clinical arena and at the forefront of continuous quality improvement.”
