Welcome to the future of healthcare
October 04, 2024
Hartford Hospital welcomed 65 high school students who spent a day learning about the varied career opportunities in healthcare.
Through our partnership with ReadyCT, students from Hartford, East Hartford, New Britain and Norwich explored healthcare careers from finance and technology to emergency medical response and robotic surgery.
The day included visits to the Center for Education, Simulation and Innovation (CESI) and the LIFE STAR helipad.
As part of this partnership, Hartford HealthCare sponsors career pathway sites for high schools in underserved communities. A variety of workplace readiness programs are offered at Hartford HealthCare hospitals, including volunteer opportunities, field trips, shadowing opportunities, internships and guest speakers.
ReadyCT provides high schools with a customized curriculum designed to prepare high school students to step into the workforce upon graduation.
