Continuing Medical Education

The Hartford Hospital Continuing Medical Education Program meets the needs of its medical staff (and of the physicians in the communities served by the Hospital) that are related to maintaining competence and improving performance and patients outcomes.


Hartford Hospital is accredited by the Connecticut State Medical Society to provide continuing medical education for physicians. All continuing medical education accredited through Hartford Hospital Office of Continuing Medical education are planned and implemented in accordance with the Essential Areas and Policies of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME).

Planning a CME Activity

The CME department encourages program planners to begin the application process as far in advance of the CME activity as possible.

State-Mandated CME

The 2013 session of the Connecticut General Assembly passed a bill that resulted in changes to the Continuing Medical Education (CME) requirements for Connecticut physicians.
