Bliss 5 (B5) is an acute palliative care unit providing acute symptom management for adult patients with a wider variety of diagnosis including cancer, stroke, lung diseases, heart disease, renal disease and multi-system failure.
Patients may require pain management, treatment for dyspnea, nausea, hydration, transfusions, or other symptom management. State of the art pharmacological methods include non-opioid analgesics, non-steroidal anti-flammatory agents, opioid or adjuvant drugs. Other palliative therapies include radiation, relaxation, music, pets, or integrative therapies.
