Prevention & Wellness

Keeping you Moving

We treat more than treat orthopedic symptoms. We also treat what causes those symptoms. Sometimes that means coaching you on your diet and helping you implement plans to lose weight, reducing stress on your joints. For others, it’s recommending lifestyle changes and appropriate exercises to build muscle tone without causing more pain or potential damage.

With our comprehensive team of orthopedic specialists, from surgeons to physical therapists to case managers, you get dedicated support in reaching your goals. Your goal might be just returning to normal function in your daily life’s activities or it might be attaining peak performance levels as an elite athlete. Wherever you’re starting from, and whatever challenges you’re facing, we’re here to support you with skilled, dedicated and well-trained specialists.

We are active participants in the Greater Hartford community, providing education and preventive care through our broad network of system partners.

Improving our Community’s Well-being

Osteoporosis Screening
More patients suffer osteoporosis-related fractures each year than heart attacks, strokes and breast cancer combined. As a clinical leader in The American Orthopaedic Association’s Own the Bone program, the Bone & Joint Institute’s Fragility Fracture Service performs special health screenings for osteoporosis and bone density throughout the Greater Hartford community. Bringing the right osteoporosis care into the community is important because as many as 80 percent of fragility fracture patients nationwide don’t get proper attention. We work hard to change that in our community.
