Surgical Critical Care Fellowship

Welcome to the University of Connecticut’s Surgery Critical Care Fellowship website at Hartford Hospital. Hartford Hospital is not only one of New England’s largest and finest hospitals, it has also been recognized nationally for it’s medical excellence.

The primary goal of the Surgical Critical Care Fellowship program is to train expert clinicians. The Fellowship is approved for 4 positions in Surgery and 1 in Anesthesiology. The year will be spent with direct clinical responsibility in the SICU. The fellows will manage patients under the supervision of the Attending Intensivists and will have principle responsibility over rotating house officers from the Departments of Surgery, Anesthesiology and Emergency Medicine. The fellows will be expected to provide in-depth cognitive and technical teaching to residents and occasionally medical students. Surgery Critical Care texts will be provided.
